Senator Larry Alley's Crisis in Confidence public forum article Wednesday in the CourierTraveler served no purpose. The piece was a partisan rant against the governor and the state's leadership response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was unbecoming of an elected state senator.

The governor assembled a team of experts to formulate and carry out Kansas's planned response to the pandemic. The governor and her team have done an admirable job. The plan is the safest and most orderly path through this crisis. The plan won't make everyone in the state happy. But it is a plan to keep us as safe and healthy as possible.

The Crisis in Confidence is Senator Alley's partisan response against the governor’s plan. A more positive use of the senator's time would be to work on gathering bipartisan support of the governor's plan to safely reopen Kansas.
