My name is Dave Kelly from Cedar Valle. I usually don’t have much to say about things but Feb. 4, I was taking a load of cattle to the Winfield Livestock Auction. I got off work and went straight home to get them penned and loaded so I could get on the road. All went well, but I was running a little behind.

Long story short I didn’t check my trailer lights. Anyways, I got to Winfield and a Trooper pulled me over. No tail lights on the trailer. He came to my door told me his name, explained why he stopped me and asked for license, registration, and proof of insurance. I had everything but proof of insurance. I told him that was fair work on the trailer lights. Trooper LeVelle and Trooper Shaffett helped me with tools and lights until we got the trailer lights working. It was cold but these two guys stayed until we got the lights working again. They went above and beyond in their duty to help and serve. With all the bad publicity about our law enforcement I could not sit by and let this story about these two Troopers go untold. I hope someday I can repay the favor to them.
