The National Basketball Association has suspended the season following the conclusion of Wednesday night's schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the NBA, a player on the Utah Jazz preliminarily tested positive for the virus. The player was not in uniform or at the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the league decided to postpone the game and halt all further NBA action until further notice.

A person with knowledge of the situation said the Jazz player who tested positive was center Rudy Gobert. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither the league nor the team confirmed the test.
