NEWTON — The Arkansas City Lady Bulldogs put together a full golf team Monday for the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division II Championships at Sand Creek Station, missing a sixth-place finish by four strokes.

Munson earned par on the No. 7 hole on the front and parred No. 13 on the back side.

Brittney Wesley of Maize South won the individual league title with a 4-over 75 after a playoff with league runner-up Madison Slaten of Andover. Mati Newman of Valley Center was three strokes back in third.

The top six golfers were named to the all-league first team, with the next six golfers earning second-team all-league status.

Just five golfers earned birdies in the meet. Wesley birdied Nos. 1 and 3, but was second on the leaderboard with a 39 at the turn. Oddly, she had no birdies on the back nine, but fired a 36.
