WICHITA -- The Arkansas City High School baseball team dropped a heartbreaker Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the KSHSAA Class 5A State Tournament.

The fifth-seeded Bulldogs fell to No. 4 seed Topeka-Seaman 1-0.

The reigning Class 4A State champions, the Bulldogs ended the season with a 13-9 record.

Seaman (18-5) advanced to the semifinals on Friday against top-seeded Bishop Carroll (22-0). Carroll nipped eighth-seeded Salina South 2-1 in eight innings earlier Thursday.
