HOWARD — Cedar Vale/Dexter tailback Brogan Myers amassed 197 yards and six touchdowns on just 11 carries Friday night, leading the Spartans to a 58-8 pasting of West Elk in South Central Border League and 8-man I District 1 action.

The Spartans (5-1, 4-1 SCBL, 3-0 D. 1) piled up 356 yards of total offense, 307 on the ground.

The Cedar Vale/Dexter defense held the host Patriots (3-3, 2-1, 1-2) to 88 total yards.

Myers opened the scoring with a 19-yard touchdown run and broke off a 41-yard TD run to give the Spartans a 14-0 lead.

Myers snapped off a 49-yard TD run in the second half, and quarterback Clayton Henderson completed his only pass in three attempts on a 49-yard touchdown bomb to Cole Criss.

MEDICINE LODGE — The Udall Eagles remained near the bottom of the 8-man I District 2 standings with a 38-6 loss Friday night at Medicine Lodge.

The Eagles (2-4, 0-3 District 2) scored their only touchdown on a 25-yard run by Trevor Whiteman in the second quarter. Udall trailed 26-6 at halftime.

The host Indians (3-3, 2-1) piled up 287 yards of total offense.

Whiteman finished with 74 yards on 14 carries and Alan Garton added 54 yards on 11 tries for the Eagles.

“We were once again very sloppy on offense with four turnovers, including a pick-6, and at least four center snaps going over the head of our quarterbacks,” UHS coach Wyatt Williams said. “We are running out of time to fix these issues, as they have plagued us in every game.”

Cason Liebst had 13 carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns for Medicine Lodge. Quarterback Josh Bowman was 12-of-23 passing for 168 yards and three TDs, two of them to Kirk Fisher, who hauled in three passes for 54 yards.
