CHANUTE — The Cowley College women’s soccer team gained at least a share of its first-ever conference title last Wednesday with a 4-1 win at Neosho County.

The Lady Tigers (11-3, 9-2 Jayhawk East) hold a one-half game lead ahead of Kansas City (12-3, 9-3) with Tuesday night’s home game against Butler left.

Playing without leading scorer Natalia Lima and Leticia Belloni, other players stepped up in their absence. First-half goals from Letycia Bonifacio and Manuela Oliveira gave the Lady Tigers a 2-0 halftime lead.

Anna Victoria Hines scored on a penalty kick early in the second half for the Lady Panthers (4-10-3, 1-9-2).
