OVERLAND PARK — The Cowley College men’s soccer team clinched its second straight Jayhawk East title Monday afternoon after battling host Johnson County to a 1-1 tie.

The victory assured the Tigers (10-1-2, 7-1-2 Jayhawk East) of finishing two points in front of the second-place Cavaliers (9-5-3, 6-1-3) in the conference.

The conference title is the second in two years for Ruy Vaz as coach of the Tigers.

The Tigers are host to a first-round Region VI playoff game, and will take on Garden City at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bulldog Stadium.

The Broncbusters (6-9, 4-6 Jayhawk West) have suffered their last three losses by one goal.
