ROSALIA — The offense might have sputtered, but the Udall Eagles were solid on defense Friday night, shutting out host Flinthills 21-0 in a South Central Border League battle.
“Overall, we played like it was our first game,” Udall coach Wyatt Williams said. “We were very good defensively, but struggled offensively. We were very sloppy on offense, and were bailed out by our defense.”

Sophomore Trent Whiteman was 1-of-2 passing for 26 yards and one touchdown, hitting senior Trevor Whiteman on a 40-yard scoring pass. Trevor Whiteman completed 3 of 6 passes for 24 yards, and gained 22 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
Sophomore Jayce Rieth led the offense with 51 yards and a touchdown on 11 totes.
“Give credit to Flinthills — they played very hard and physical, and are much improved from a year ago,” Williams said.
Senior Isaac Patterson led with 10 total tackles (5 solo), while Rieth and Trevor Whiteman (one interception) added nine tackles apiece. Senior Alex Spencer recovered two fumbles, and junior Isaac Jirak recovered one fumble and had an interception.
