Two mentions for Lady Bulldogs

Arkansas City High School senior Espy Daniels and freshman Kamri Pool earned honorable mention in voting by Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division II All-League girls basketball coaches.

Daniels led the Lady Bulldogs in several offensive categories, including points per game with 9.6, rebounds per game with 2.9 and steals per game at 1.9.

Pool led the team with 5.5 rebounds per game and blocks with 0.8 per game while averaging 5.5 points and 1 steal per game.

The Lady Bulldogs finished with a 3-17 record and missed the top 16 to qualify for Class 5A Sub-State.

Goddard senior Kade Hackerott and Maize South senior Katie Wagner shared co-Most Valuable Player honors.

Stana Jefferson, who led Andover Central to the AV-CTL D-II regular-season title with a perfect 12-0 record, was voted Coach of the Year.

Andover Central sent five of six starters to the all-league team. All five of those players return to next season’s squad for the Lady Jaguars (22-1), who advanced to the KSHSAA Class 5A State semifinals before play was canceled.

Junior Bailey Wilborn and sophomore Brittany Harshaw represented Andover Central on the first team. Also joining Hackerott and Wagner on the first team were Goddard-Eisenhower junior Kennedy Nicholson and Valley Center senior Kassie Kinniburgh.
