The Central of Burden High School boys cross country team won the South Central Border League Championships on Tuesday at Camp Horizon.

The Raiders scored 40 team points, two better than runner-up West Elk.

Teagan Thompson of Caldwell won the race in 18 minutes, 32.9 seconds.

Austin Henderson led the Raiders with a fifth-place finish. Laine Schooley cracked the top 10, while Curtis Bass was 12th and Logan Braun placed 13th.

The Dexter Cardinals had three runners in the boys meet, led by a sixth-place finish from Darius Casebolt . Justin McIntire finished ninth and Josh Gage was 16th.

Hans Faye represented the Udall Eagles with a third-place finish.

Representing the Oxford Wildcats was Adam Caitlin, who placed eighth.

Dexter’s Jacey McIntire was runner-up in the girls race, finishing in 23:54.5 as the lone representative for the Lady Cardinals.

Alivia Bacon gave Caldwell a sweep of the individual titles, timing in at 22:34.4.

Ana Voelker led the Central girls by placing fifth. Cera Krueger (11th), Jackilynn Crueger (12th) and Abbie Bowman (13th) also competed for the Lady Raiders.

Elanor Baxter finished ninth for Udall.

The Class 1A Regional Championships are set for Oct. 24 at Prairie Ridge Cross Country Park in Hutchinson.
