YORK, Neb. — Southwestern College junior Sydney Webb scored 23 of her career-high 32 points in the second half Saturday, helping the Lady Builders to pull away for an 80-69 KCAC victory at York.

The Lady Builders (12-13, 9-11 KCAC), who picked up their second straight conference victory, are in a tie with Oklahoma Wesleyan for seventh place in conference standings, one game ahead of Bethel and 1 1/2 games ahead of McPherson. The top eight teams qualify for the KCAC Tournament.

Southwestern nursed a 36-35 halftime lead despite shooting 46 percent from the floor in the first half while holding the Lady Panthers (1-24, 0-20) to 31 percent because the Lady Builders committed 16 turnovers.

Leading just 61-57 entering the fourth quarter, the Lady Builders held York to 28-percent shooting (5 of 18) down the stretch, including 0 of 8 from 3-point range.

The third quarter boasted three lead changes, with the Lady Panthers building theirs to as big as four with around five minutes to go. Southwestern, however, responded with a 10-0 run. Webb finished 10-of-15 shooting from the floor, including 8 of 10 inside the arc. She was 10 of 11 from the foul line and Southwestern finished 27 of 34 from the line as a team.

The Lady Panthers were a perfect 15 of 15 from the line.

Senior Marissa Evans recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Former Arkansas City standout Destiny Stewart tallied seven points and a team-high four assists off the bench.

TaShay Jackson finished with 14 points and Nakia Hackel added 12 points for the Lady Panthers, who were outrebounded 37-28.

The Lady Builders return home at 6 p.m. Wednesday against No. 19-ranked Kansas Wesleyan.
