The No. 13-ranked Southwestern College men’s basketball team overcame a slow start, but eclipsed the 100-point plateau for the sixth consecutive game Wednesday night in a 100-68 victory against Haskell Indian Nations at Stewart Field House.

Junior Cameron Hunt led all scorers with 34 points for the Moundbuilders (6-0). The Duncanville, Texas, native went 7 of 9 from the floor and converted 17 of 20 from the foul line while grabbing six rebounds and four steals.

Sophomore Andrew Hamm scored 14 points off the bench, while senior DJ Wallace added 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Lorenzo Martinez recorded the first double-double of his Southwestern career with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Tristan Keah-Tigh led the Indians (1-5) with 14 points.

The Indians led by five, 9-4, at the 15:23 mark of the opening half, but Southwestern took it from there.

A Jacob Horsch triple, followed by back-to-back Hamm treys sparked a 29-8 run through the next 10 minutes.

Kyrece Mills scored a bucket at the 5:01 mark that gave the Moundbuilders a 33-17 lead. They then scored the final 13 points of the half, turning a 36-23 advantage into a 49-23 halftime lead.

Haskell crawled back into the game in the first six minutes of the second half, opening the half on a 17-8 run to pull to within 17, 57-40, with 13:59.

Any momentum they had, however, disappeared when forward Nakia Hendricks was whistled for a foul. Hendricks then was assessed a technical foul and after arguing with an official, was hit with another technical foul and ejection.

Hunt stepped to the line and converted all four free throws, which marked the beginning of a 14-4 run that helped the Moundbuilders to build a 71-44 lead with 11:02 remaining.

Southwestern never led by less than 23 points remainder of the contest.

A Martinez free throw with 4:34 to play gave the Moundbuilders their first 30-point lead, 88-58, and a Hamm triple at the 1:58 mark gave the Builders their largest lead of the game at 98-65.

Martinez scored the final layup of the game to put Southwestern at the century mark for the sixth time this season and the seventh consecutive game dating back to the 2016-17 season.

The Moundbuilders travel to Bethany, Okla., on Saturday for an exhibition contest against the Crimson Storm of NCAA Division II Southern Nazarene University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Sawyer Center.
