ANDOVER — A long night got longer for the Arkansas City High School basketball teams, which were decimated in AV-CTL D-II play at Andover Central.

The Lady Bulldogs lost 53-10 in the matinee and the ACHS boys fell 63-32 in the nightcap.

A bus broke down in Rose Hill on the trip back from Andover.

Two teams with even records tipped off in the nightcap, but the host Jaguars (8-6, 4-3 AV-CTL D-II) doubled up Ark City 16-8 in the first quarter, then used a 22-12 second-quarter run to pull ahead 38-20 at halftime.

Andover Central was relentless, draining four of their nine 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Jamauri Jordan had seven points to lead the Bulldogs (7-7, 3-4), who were just 3 of 12 from the foul line.

Kaden Wilson led three players in double figures with 17 points for the Jaguars, who were 8 of 17 from the line. Jerome Washington and Xavier Bell added 14 points apiece.
