The Cowley College women’s soccer team maintained a one-game lead in the Jayhawk East with a 3-0 victory Thursday against winless Allen.

The Lady Tigers (8-2, 6-1 Jayhawk East) have allowed only two goals while going 5-0 at home.

Freshman Makayla Farquharson earned the win in goal against the Lady Red Devils (0-10, 0-7) by stopping both shots she faced.

Carla Ruiz and Natalia Lima scored first-half goals, and Lima added her second score of the game a little more than six minutes into the second half.

“Allen is definitely a much improved squad, but we were ready for it and would not allow them to upset us at home,” Cowley coach Roberto dos Santos said.

The Lady Tigers play host to No. 16 Kansas City (8-2, 5-2) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
