South Haven gets two on first team in all-league voting

South Haven High School senior Brittney Byers, who eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in her high school career, was one of two Lady Cardinals to earn all-league first-team status in voting by SCBL girls coaches.  

South Haven High School senior Brittney Byers, who recorded the 1,000th point of her high school career this season, led the way on the first team in balloting by South Central Border League girls basketball coaches.

Senior Rachel Turek also earned a first-team nod for the Lady Cardinals, who finished third in SCBL standings with a 7-2 record, 16-6 overall.

Udall junior Emma Enderud was the only other player among area teams to earn votes, finishing on the second team.

Senior Megan McClendon and junior Madelyne Koop of SCBL champion West Elk also were named to the first team. The Lady Patriots were upset by Garden Plain in the Class 2A Sub-State finals.

Sedan junior Caitlin Williams and Argonia sophomore Chelsea Coleman were the other first-team honorees.
