The Cowley College men’s and women’s tennis teams are ranked among the top five in the nation in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings.

The Cowley men are ranked fourth, while the Lady Tigers are ranked fifth.

The Tigers have four singles players ranked among the top 50 NJCAA men’s players in the country, and the doubles team of Alejandra Orihuela and Carlos Castillo is ranked 10th.

The Lady Tigers have five singles players ranked in the top 50 and a pair of doubles teams ranked in the top 10.

Sophomore Georgina Kaindoah is ranked No. 4 in the nation in singles, while the doubles tandem of Takalani Molaoa and Andrea Rodriguez is ranked third.

“I am really proud of these young group of players because we have been working really hard during the fall season and we can’t wait for the spring season to get started,” Cowley tennis coach Manuel Raga said.

The Tigers open the spring season on Feb. 1 at Baker University in Baldwin City.
