BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The Southwestern College men’s golf team placed eighth Tuesday at the two-day Oklahoma Wesleyan Spring Classic.

The Moundbuilders sat sixth after Day 1.

Senior Daren Reed led the way, finishing fifth after first-round play. Reed had a consistent two days of play, shooting a 75 on day 1, followed by a 76 on the second, ending the tournament in a tie for eighth.

Sophomore Khord Vining fired a 77 on Day 1 before coming back with a second-round 80 to tie for 22nd.

Freshman James Strickland cracked the top 30 with a pair of 80s.

The Moundbuilders have next week off before taking part March 23-24 in the first spring KCAC event of the season in Broken Arrow, Okla.
