Cowley College has named its Male and Female Athletes of the Month for October and November.

The October Male Athlete of the Month was Ramiro Diez of the back-to-back Jayhawk East champion men’s soccer team.

The sophomore goalkeeper has helped the Tigers to a 11-1-2 record and has allowed only 12 goals in 12 games started. He has a of 3.29 GPA and plans to major in elementary education.

Elina Zlateva of the No. 11-ranked volleyball team was named the October Female Athlete of the Month.

Zlateva is second on the team in kills (377) and digs (302) and has helped the Lady Tigers to a 30-4 record. The business administration major has a 3.75 GPA.

The November Male Athlete of the Month is baseball player Logan Steenstra.

Steenstra, who was a 40th-round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2019 Major League draft, was a second-team all-conference selection as a freshman after batting .310 with 49 RBI. The physical therapy major has a 3.74 GPA.

Letycia Bonifacio of the No. 19-ranked women’s soccer team was named the November Female Athlete of the Month.

The midfielder has helped the Lady Tigers to a school-record 13 wins (13-3) and their first-ever conference title. The athletic training major has a 3.66 GPA.
