Builders win record 10th

The Southwestern College men’s soccer team picked up its 10th win of the season Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory against Bethany on a cold, snowy Senior night at Richard L. Jantz Stadium.

The Builders (10-5, 6-3) set a school record with the 10 wins, with a minimum of three games remaining.

Southwestern recognized 12 seniors before the game.

Sophomore Fabio Schneider started the scoring for the Builders about 17 minutes in.

A little more than a minute later, senior Alex Perez took a pass from junior Francis Watson and put it in for a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Builders outshot the Swedes (5-11, 2-8) 14-5.

Southwestern added to the lead near the 60th minute when senior Ram Keller scored unassisted.

Bethany spoiled the shutout in the 70th minute on a goal by Kevin Sithole.

The Builders can clinch a spot in the KCAC Tournament with a win at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sterling (9-7, 5-5).
