Mississippi-bound

Cowley College sophomore Deng Bol recently signed a letter of intent to continue playing basketball at NCAA Division I Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. Bol did a little bit of everything during his two seasons with the Tigers. Starting all 63 games in which he appeared, Bol led Cowley to 45 wins and was a two-time all-conference selection. Bol helped the Tigers to the Jayhawk East title for the first time since the 2009-10 season and qualify for the Juco National Tournament for the first time in more than 60 years. Bol was the Jayhawk East Defensive Player of the Year and third-team All-Region. He averaged 9.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season and was named to the Region VI All-Tournament Team. The business administration major will join a Jackson State team that went 11-7 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference last season.
