High Honors

KSOK broadcaster Charles Osen, left, and Southwestern College men’s basketball coach Matt O’Brien were honored by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association during a ceremony Saturday afternoon at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.

O’Brien, who led the Moundbuilders to a 28-5 record, a KCAC Tournament title and the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championships, was named KBCA Men’s Four-Year College Coach of the Year. O’Brien also received plaques for 20 years of coaching and for his 200 career wins.

Osen, whose radio name is Curt Caden, is the play-by-play voice of the Moundbuilders and Winfield Vikings on KSOK radio. He was presented the KBCA Media award.
