Learning the Fundamentals of Basketball

Cowley College men’s basketball coach Tommy DeSalme and assistant coach Eric Nitsche led the Tiger Basketball Camp for boys and girls entering grades 1-6 in the fall. A total of 32 boys and girls took part in the camp. Donnie Jackson, former assistant coach and current NOC-Tonkawa head coach, assisted, along with Jancye Sturd and Abby Hollins.

“For a lot of these kids, it was their first experience playing basketball,” DeSalme said. “This is an opportunity for us to give back. We hope they have a good experience and want to play this great game for a long time.”

Camp participants were: Fred Bergkamp, Elizabeth Bergkamp, Brooklyn Jinkins, Brogan Herman, Noah Parr, Easton Trecek, Tariyah Henderson, Saniyah Henderson, Landon Marrs, Carson Goeckel, Landon Goeckel, Lyla Wiiest, Karson Palmer, Cooper Wiemers, Gage Wiemers, Audryee Soule, Brayden Soule, Briggs Buckingham, Noah Washburn, Daxson Posey, Davon Posey, Elliot Morgan, Ethan Morgan, Noah Kahrs, Cooper Kmiec, Kadryan Denson, Maurice Atkins, Trevin Miller, Kamari Jennings, Jaxon Jackson and Blake Nitsche.
