MAIZE — The Arkansas City High School basketball teams met an old league foe Friday night in Maize South.

The ACHS boys lost 67-41 in the nonleague nightcap. The Lady Bulldogs fell 49-18 in the matinee.

The boys trailed 31-21 at halftime and were outscored 22-6 in the third quarter.

Trevor Pierce scored 13 of his game-high 26 points in the first half for the Bulldogs.

Isaiah Atwater had 12 points and Michael Cates added 10 for the Mavericks.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 27-6 at halftime.

Saliyah Johnson led Ark City with nine points. Emma Badley added five points and Kierslynn Waggoner contributed four points.

Kieran Burke led all scorers with 13 points, while Isis Sanders and Avery Lowe added 12 points apiece for the Lady Mavericks.
