For more than 30 years, Lions Clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster contest in local schools and youth groups. The Lions International Peace Poster contest gives students the opportunity to express their feelings of peace and in doing so, helps shape passionate leaders for the future. The theme of the 2021 Peace Poster Contest is “We Are All Connected.” Bringing peace to the world, through one child at a time. Students who are between 11 and 13 years old on Nov. 15 are eligible to participate.

Winfield Middle School art students of Deanndra Williams submit their posters to the Winfield Lions Club Peace Poster committee.

Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.

Posters advance through several judging levels; local, district, multiple district and international. At the international level, judges from the art, peace, youth, education and media communities select one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners.

The 2021 winners of the Winfield Lions Club Peace Poster Contest are:

First place — Hally Eastman; second place — Repison Modou; and third place — Maliyah Bell.

The posters of all the participants can be viewed from Nov. 4 to Dec. 2 at the Winfield Arts and Humanities in Baden Square.
