Finally, it’s 2021 and to celebrate the New Year the Gallery 1001 is proud and quite fortunate to have artist William “Bill” Shepherd as its “guest artist” for January. The gallery invites all to come out and help it welcome Shepherd to its First Friday Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gallery 1001, 1001 Main Street in Winfield.

Shepherd, aside from being a prolific painter is also a Veteran who currently resides in El Dorado. He has participated in numerous art fairs and showings throughout the Kansas and the Midwest and brings a unique perspective to his art. Using a culmination of styles and genres from abstract, expressionism, surrealism, as well realism, his art is something that must be seen to realize the depth and talent of the artist.

Numerous works will also be on display by resident artists. From paintings and photographs of landscapes, graphic arts, abstract, woodworking, sculptures, pottery, and more. The gallery is sure that the talent of fellow citizens and Kansans will impress all.

The gallery asks that facemasks be worn by all and that social distancing be observed.
