Sundays for tie dye

The Very Rev. Laurie Lewis, rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Winfield, holds babies in tie dye after the Sept. 9 mass. The babies are Meredeth Floyd, left, and Noble Bradbury.

Grace Episcopal Church, 715 Millington St., in Winfield, is celebrating the Walnut Valley Festival with several Tie-Dye Sunday services — at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 and 23.

The Very Rev. Laurie Lewis will lead the services.

Everyone is welcome to come in his or her favorite tie-dyed clothing or regalia.

Several years ago, parishioner Jennifer Harness tie-dyed a stole and chasuble for Mother Laurie to wear on these special days.

For those who can’t get up early enough for the tie-dye service, there is an 11 a.m. service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 224 N. A St., in Arkansas City. Mother Laurie is rector of both churches.

For more information, call Grace at (620) 221-4252.
