The National Rifle Association’s crime prevention and personal safety seminar, “Refuse To Be A Victim,” is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Community Council Room in City Hall, 200 E. Ninth Ave., in Winfield. The seminar is open to the general public ages 14 and older. Registration is $50. (Register with “Safety” for a 50 percent discount)

Developed in response to nationwide requests for crime prevention seminars, “Refuse To Be A Victim” teaches methods to avoid dangerous situations and prevent criminal confrontations. Seminar participants will be presented with a variety of common-sense crime prevention and personal safety strategies and devices that can be integrated into their personal, home, automobile, telephone, technological and travel security.
