No arrests have been made in an armed robbery that occurred in November at Check Into Cash in Winfield, although a person of interest has been identified, Capt. Chad Gordon with the Winfield Police Department told the CourierTraveler.

Gordon said other law enforcement agencies have been involved in the investigation, and the robbery could be linked to others in the area.

On Nov. 23, 2020 a man entered the store in the 100 block of West 13th Avenue, displayed a weapon, demanded money from the employees and fled in a silver sport utility vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.

During the investigation, officers located clothing items along Country Club Road in Winfield that are thought to have been worn by the suspect during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a blue University of Kansas sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a hat, glasses and a surgical-type mask.
