A new book about the May 25, 1955 tornado in Udall that destroyed the town and killed 82 people has been written by Virginia-based author Jim Minick and published by the Nebraska Press. ‘Without Warning: The Tornado of Udall, Kansas’ chronicles the destruction and rebuilding through survivors’ eyes in a narrative tale of creative nonfiction. Minick will hold a book signing at 7 p.m. Thursday — the 68th anniversary of the storm — at the Udall Community Building, 102 E. First St. A review of the book by CT Publisher David A. Seaton was published in the Spring Issue of the Cowley Quarterly, which can be found at area businesses and at ctnewsonline.com.
