Fox Royale to perform at Burford

Fox Royale

Joplin-based Indie-rock band Fox Royale is slated to play a free show at 5 p.m. during Thirsty Thursday at the Burford Theatre.

Fox Royale have a natural energy and their upbeat, jangly sound makes even their darkest songs almost joyful. Their sound has been compared to popular indie-rock giants such as Cage the Elephant, Cold War Kids and Vampire Weekend.

The band’s lead vocalist and guitar player said, “We’re trying to tackle (millennial anxieties) in such a way that doesn’t sound naive,” noting the band is just “as young as the people listening” their music.

Their show is free and open to the public during this week’s Thirsty Thursday event.
