The Winfield Soroptimist Blessing Box has been installed on the front of the American Legion at 115 W. 10th Ave., in Winfield.

The Soroptimist Projects Committee made a commitment to build a box and provide food for anyone who needs it. Committee member Ruth Parman came up with the idea and member Sheryl Clower told her husband, Richard, about the project. Without hesitation, he said he would build it. So it became a reality.

When Ray Archambeau was called about the possibility of installing it on front of the American Legion, since Soroptimist have their bi-monthly meetings there, he called back right away and said it was a “yes” from members. When signage was made it included the American Legion’s name as a partner.

Mike Ledy and Rod Harrod helped to install the box. Soroptimists have been hearing that other organizations want to help keep it filled. Anyone is invited to add items to the box, or take an item if they need it. The sign says: “Above All Be Blessed.”
