Flags commemorating Arkansas City’s 150th anniversary recently were installed along Summit Street through the downtown area. City spokesperson Andrew Lawson said the main part of the celebration is from July 15-17 and will also include concerts by the community band and other special events to be announced at a later date. ‘It’s kind of a year-long thing, so we’ll roll Arkalalah into it as well,’ he said. The special flags can be purchased for $50 at Visit Ark City.
