Ronnie Greer

Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Greer, 71, went home to the Lord on Sept. 6, 2021 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Ronald’s name for Second Baptist Church in Winfield.  Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Ronnie was born to Raleigh and Eulalia Greer on Dec. 19, 1949 in Winfield, where he was raised. He went on to graduate from high school at Winfield High and attended Cowley County Community College and Southwestern College. He also served in the Army for some years.

Ronnie welcomed his one and only son, Mario Crawford, on June 14 in 1973.

Ronnie met his wife, Tonya, in Winfield, and they married May 9, 2009. Through this loving marriage, he was blessed with a daughter, Reanna, and three stepchildren.

In addition to being a dedicated husband and loving father, Ronnie also loved serving the Lord and helping others. He could build a house from the foundation up and loved fishing.  Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God that he shared with those who surrounded him and his kindness and unforgettable personality.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Eulalia Greer, and his two brothers, Gary and Richard “Butch” Greer.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two children, Mario Crawford, of Wichita, and Reanna Greer, of Winfield; his wife, Tonya Greer, and three stepchildren, of Winfield; his sisters, Kimberly Greer-Duru, of Wichita, and Charlene “Joan” Baptista; his granddaughter, TaNeal Bollinger, of Stillwater, Okla.; great-granddaughter, Addarah Bollinger; and many nieces and nephews.
