Sandra Downen

Sandy was a very special lady, always smiling and a friend to all, but most of all she loved Jesus. Sandy and her husband Roy have lived in the area for eight years. Before retiring she worked as an aircraft inspector for 23 years at GE Aircraft in Arkansas City. Before that, she worked 20 years for Graves Drug in Arkansas City. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed making jewelry and was an avid garage-saler. She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Reeds Spring, Mo.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Lee Simkins.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Downen, of Reeds Spring, Mo.; daughter, Michelle Kelley and husband, Allen, of Winfield; stepdaughter, Tammy Downen, of Andover; sister, Joane Preciado and husband, Chano, of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Shelby, Garrett, Colton, Jacob, Kayliana and Kasyn; six great-grandchildren; her buddy and fur baby, J.J.; and a host of other family and many, many friends.
