Billy Leroy Trollope, son of Leonard Merle Trollope and Wilma Ernestine Wise, was born Aug. 4, 1935 in Conway Springs. He departed this life at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Lake Regional Hospital at the age of 87.
He was united in marriage to Doris “Darlene” Fox on Feb. 19, 1956 in Winfield. To this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his mother.
Survivors include his two children, Cindy Trollope and Billy D. Trollope, of Camdenton, Mo.; a grandson, Colin A. Trollope; and two great-grandsons, Wheeler B. Trollope and Cooper W. Trollope, of Lake Ozark, Mo.
Billy graduated from Milan High School. He met Darlene while he was a student at Southwestern College. After they were married, they made their home in Winfield and later moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he joined the KCMO Police Department on Sept. 16, 1958. He retired from there in 1985 after 25 years and 9 months. At that time they made their home at Lake of the Ozarks in Roach, Mo.
Billy was a devoted family man and we celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he created.
The family will have a private celebration of life.
