Joyce Ratcliff

Joyce Elaine Ratcliff, 76, of Arkansas City, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Medicalodges of Arkansas City.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tim Milby will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 19 at the funeral home.

Joyce was born Jan. 16, 1946 to Elva H. and Alma D. (Ryman) Payne in Arkansas City. She grew up attending schools in Geuda Springs and Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School in 1966. After high school, she attended and graduated from beauty college in Wichita.

Joyce married Chuck Wright in 1966 in Arkansas City, where the couple made their home. To this union they had two daughters, Robin and Kristal. They later divorced. Joyce later married Jim Ratcliff on March 27, 1987 in Miami, Okla. They made their home in Arkansas City.

Joyce was a homemaker and housewife who loved caring for her family. She also worked for several nursing homes as an aide, worked for Gott (Rubbermaid) and was a foster grandmother for Head Start for many years. Joyce enjoyed gardening and her flowers, but most of all she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Arkansas City.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of the home; daughters, Robin Goodno and husband, Troy, and Kristal Wright, all of Ponca City, Okla.; stepchildren, Amy Antonelli and husband, Chris, of Winfield, Michael Ratcliff and wife, Kyla, of Ponca City, Okla., and Tiffany Mount and husband, Jeremiah, of Derby; a sister, Judy Woods and husband, Fred, of Wichita; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
