Denise was born Dec. 13, 1958, in Okarche, Okla., to Arthur F. and Ruth J. (Brueggen) Annuschat. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael (Mike) A. Meyer, on March 31, 1979, in Okarche. The couple was blessed with four sons, each born in Okarche, between 1979 and 1986. The family moved to Winfield in 1991, then Hoxie in 1992. Denise and Mike raised their sons and became heavily involved in the community of Hoxie and Immanuel Lutheran Church, until they moved to Colby in 2010, then to Salina in 2013.

Throughout her life, Denise worked as a registered medical assistant, a para-educator, and as an administrative assistant at several medical practices and businesses. She had various interests and hobbies to which she devoted her free time, including avidly watching the Jayhawks, Chiefs, Royals and Auburn, as well as baking and cooking, and meticulously maintaining her lawn and garden. However, her most cherished roles were being a loving, servant-hearted and devoted wife, mother, aunt and, most recently, grandmother. “Niece,” “Mom” or “NeeNee,” as she was affectionately referred to, loved and cared for her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews and four grandchildren with a selfless, sacrificial and strong-willed love that each will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Paul, Stan, Vicki, David, Nick and Ron.

Denise is survived by Mike, her husband of 42 years; four sons, Scott (Mandy), of Overland Park, Greg (Emilie), of Tulsa, Okla., Clay (Liz), of Overland Park, and Danny, of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Branch, Ruthie, Lily and Owen; three siblings, Sandy (Richard) Raupe, of Okarche, Okla., Jackie (Chris) Walta, of Kingfisher, Okla., and Larry Annuschat, of Okarche, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
