Jalon Michael Crowley, 38, of Arkansas City, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Arkansas City First Assembly of God Church. Private burial is at a later date at Parker Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Arkansas City.
Memorial contributions for Jalon can be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.
Jalon was born May 4, 1982, in Loma Linda, Calif., to Joe E. and Donnis Jean (Graham) Crowley. He attended grade school and middle school at Calvary Chapel Christian School in Wellington and graduated from Arkansas City High School in 2000. While in high school, Jalon took second place in the 1998 state wrestling tournament and was state champion in 2000. He went to Labette Community College in Parsons on a full wrestling scholarship, qualifying for nationals in both his freshman and sophomore years. He continued his education at the University of Central Oklahoma. While in college, he worked for Southern Hills Veterinary Hospital in Edmond as a veterinary assistant.
After moving back to Arkansas City, he worked at Skyline. Later he moved to Rose Hill to work at ACES for Jana and Ross Lumbert. From there he took a job for the Oklahoma-Kansas Railroad and later returned to Skyline.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Christina (Crowley) Tyler, and his grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, Joe and Jean Crowley; his nephews, Logan and Sylas Tyler; niece, Kadynce Tyler; and his best friend, his dog Diesel and new addition Ripley.
