Sharon R. Bruce, 61, formerly of Argonia, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 at Botkin Care and Rehab Center in Wellington.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at Argonia Cemetery, with the Rev. Val Warman officiating.

Sharon was born Dec. 6, 1959, in Harper, to Darrel Gene Bruce and Leota Rose (Olmstead) Bruce. She grew up on the family farm near Argonia and attended Wellington High School, graduating with the Class of 1978. She continued her education and completed a nurse’s aide training program in Salina.
Sharon worked in food service for Interstate United in Wichita and later the Scotsman’s Restaurant in Wellington for eight years. She resided in an apartment in Wellington for several years. Due to health reasons, Sharon then resided at Botkin Care and Rehab beginning in July 1992 until her passing. She enjoyed babysitting her nephews and niece, following them through their school activities, weddings, and most recently seeing her new great-nephew via Facetime. Sharon enjoyed the activities at the nursing home, including bingo, Uno and cornhole. Many nurses and residents became her lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1982 and her mother in 2011.
Sharon is survived by siblings, Sheryl Bruce, of Wichita, Brian Bruce (Lana Basinger), of Milan, and Susan Conklin (Gregg), of Winfield; nephews and nieces, Lane Bruce, Tyler Conklin, Kyle Bruce (Kylie), Courtney Iske (Michael), Matthew Conklin and Adam Conklin; aunts and uncles, Mary Joyce Hughes, of Derby, Clara Marie Farlow (Clayton), of Independence, Anne Rush (Phil), of Conway Springs, and Larry Bruce (Shirley), of Riverton; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
