Opal Francis Barnes, 104, of Arkansas City, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Interment will follow at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City. Friends can view from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family asks that, if anyone wants to donate food, to please take it to the Chestnut Venue by 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, where they will receive friends.

Opal was born Aug. 15, 1917 to Frank F. Boatman and Leila Mae (Runkle) in Norton County. She married Clyde Barnes and the couple had four children. She was a homemaker and dairy farmer.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; sons, Fred and Bob Barnes; grandsons, Sean and Mark Barnes; and son-in-law, Tom Baker.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenna Baker and Verna Welch, both of Arkansas City; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren.
