You will no doubt receive several letters regarding Gary's retirement article in today's paper.

There was one omission in the article that I want to emphasize. Following a lawsuit, Winfield began a long process of correcting problems throughout the city to make many areas accessible to folks with disabilities. That process was headed by Gary Mangus.

He led a group of volunteer members in a ten year plan with much completed successfully. With first hand knowledge I know it was not an easy chore. Without his professional leadership it would not have been successful. A few lingering projects remain but most is complete.

Good work, Gary.
