TOWANDA — The Arkansas City High School boys basketball team put together a solid effort Tuesday night, entering Christmas break with a 62-48 nonleague victory at Towanda-Circle.

A slow start was costly for the Lady Bulldogs, who fell 29-24.

The ACHS boys won at the foul line, sinking 28 of 36.

Trevor Pierce sank 9 of 10 from the line and led all scorers with 25 points. Cadon Clark scored all of his points from the line in a 10-of-10 effort. Aidan Brantley had nine points and Jonas Stoy added nine points off the bench for the Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 15-5 at halftime, but outscored Circle 19-14 after the break.

Savannah Phillips finished with a team-high nine points — all in the second half — to lead Ark City.
