The Douglass High School football team was blanked 27-0 by the undefeated Chaparral Roadrunners on Friday in Anthony.

Chaparral opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 64-yard touchdown pass from Wyatt Drouhard to Kaden Harding. This second quarter saw Chaparral field goals of 28 and 32 yards to put the home team up 13-0 at halftime.

The Bulldogs rushed for 136 yards but managed just 58 yards through the air as they failed to reach the end zone. The Roadrunners scored touchdowns in each quarter of the second half for its 27-0 shutout. Most of their offense Friday night came via the passing game with 223 yards through the air and 86 on the ground.

The Roadrunners are now 7-0 on the season. Douglass falls to 1-7 and faces 2-6 Belle Plaine on Friday at home.
