DOUGLASS — The Douglass High School football team was unable to hold on to a halftime lead Friday night, falling to Wichita Trinity 19-18.

The Bulldogs (0-3) have struggled all season with 2-point conversions, and went 0 for 3 in a game where the difference was an extra point by Trinity’s McCain Butcher.

Dalton Hilyard finished with 107 yards and three touchdowns for Douglass.

Hilyard’s 2-yard run gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 first-quarter lead. Hilyard then rambled in for an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Trinity quarterback Harvey Zimmerman found Meeko Lumapas on a 28-yard touchdown pass as the teams headed into the halftime break.

Trinity took the lead on a 21-yard TD run by Zimmerman in the fourth quarter.

Lumapas added a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and Hilyard took it in from the 18.

Douglass quarterback Jordan Stoffel finished 6-of-16 passing for 63 yards. Brock Stiner caught half of the completions for 33 yards. Wade Morgan added 83 yards on 14 carries.

Zimmerman was 11-of-18 passing for 130 yards. Keshawn Martin caught six passes for 78 yards. Lumapas finished with 76 yards on 17 carries and Zimmerman added 66 yards on 12 totes.

OXFORD — Oxford lost at home Friday to Argonia/Attica 60-8 in South Central Border League 8-man play.

Peyton Rush returned a kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter for the Wildcats (0-3, 0-3 SCBL) to spoil the shutout.

In other SCBL games, Udall defeated Cedar Vale/Dexter 60-28 for the Eagles’ first victory of the season. Sedan handed Central of Burden its first loss of the season, 58-8, and Kinsley defeated South Haven 64-14 in nonleague play.
