WICHITA — After a brilliant

display on Wednesday

at the Stryker Sports

Complex by the

College women’s

soccer team, the

Lady Builders

were tasked with a tough

proposition on Saturday

Southwestern faced the

KCAC regular-season champion

Oklahoma Wesleyan

for the conference championship.

The Lady Builders turned

in a valiant effort, but fell

1-0 to the No. 10-ranked

Lady Eagles.

In what was a battle

where Southwestern did

not have many chances

to score, the Lady Eagles

(19-2) controlled

play for the most

part, scoring

their lone goal in

the early going

when Marjolen Nekesa

connected off a pass from

Stacia Spears in the 13th

The Lady Builders (13-5-

1) managed only three shots

in the match, one on net. Hailey Rouse had the only shot that was saved by OWU

keeper Nerea Perez Mora. Morgan Mitchell and Bryana

Kuhn also had a single attempt each.

Mallorie Lund faced a barrage of shots, recording eight

saves. Oklahoma Wesleyan had 17 shots on goal.

The Lady Builders were not chosen for an at-large bid

for the NAIA Championship Tournament. The NAIA selection

committee made the choices Monday morning.
