HILLSBORO — The Southwestern College men’s soccer team scored quickly Saturday night against third-seeded Tabor in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Championship.

Unfortunately for the Builders, Tabor scored decisively — twice — to come away with a 2-1 victory, ending Southwestern’s season.

The seventh-seeded Builders (8-8-2) took a 1-0 lead just 3:13 into the game when Anthony Gross deflected a shot into the net.

It stayed that way until the 45th minute of the first half, when Eric Brown took a feed from Cooper Allan and drove home the equalizer.

Sam Butler scored the go-ahead goal for the Bluejays (11-6-1) off a gorgeous cross from Kajubi Kalanzi in the 59th minute.

The Builders outshot Tabor 13-11, but Jesus Rondon recorded nine saves in goal for the Bluejays. Joshua Eibl gathered six saves in goal for Southwestern.
